Hi all,
We have now actually completed the drive, in a Toyota Hiace van. It was great fun and well worth doing. Its such a great way to see Australia.
Below is the map of the actual route we took. We stopped overnight at: Wangaratta and Coonabarabran. We took a deviation from Wangaratta through Yarrawonga, and stopped to eat breakfast by the Murray river there - well worth the detour. More on the details later.
Hi,
My wife and I are undertaking a trip soon, and here is the google map of the whole thing. Its a great service, this google maps directions finder.
check it out below.
I've been playing with and using Linux as my sole desktop operating system for about 10 years now. In that time I've changed desktop environments quite a lot. Eventually after spending some time on KDE initially, I made the decision to move across to the simpler Gnome environment and never looked back. I had cause to reconsider this decision this week and here's why.
or Looking at Australia with a New Perspective
I thought I'd write a little bit about my impressions and feelings while being back in my home country, I was in Australia for a 3 weeks in July visiting family, friends and taking care of some business, and the trip provided me with a new perspective on things.
I could not have put it better if i'd written it myself. It seems there's a mini revolution going on in the Linux world at the moment. Small is becoming beautiful. People have seen what is possible in terms of ease of use in Linux from distributions such as Ubuntu and Fedora Core, and decided that ease of use, plus less bloat would be a better idea.
In an effort to try and understand the phptemplate system and make it easier on me to develop drupal template's I have undertaken to create a cheat sheet.
The pdf file attached to this article is two pages and should make it easier to remember what the various variables are for each template file, and what they do.
Feel free to download and share as you wish.

ActiveCollab, the open source collaboration & project management software has been forked into 4 separate projects: opengoo, projectpier, Basecamp (an ASP / online pay per use application) and ActiveCollab. The forking of the first two projects occurred because of concern that some of the community had over the future state of the ActiveCollab project. The Basecamp forking occured while the project was still using the GPLv2 license. It exploited a hole in the license that allows non-distribution of the source code when an open source application is used as an ASP application.
Yep, Willage India is BACK YAY!!!
I've started willage india again because I need a creative outlet. There's a blog section, and also going to be a page or two on Open Source software.
So lets get it started.
